The 8 Hour NYHBE SHOP Exchange Certification course is intended to permit Producers to sell small group health insurance policies through the New York State Health Benefit Exchange. Following the training, Producers must take an exam, which if passed, will make producers eligible for certification to operate within the NYHBE Exchange. Only with this certification will Producers be able to sell small group coverage through the Exchange.

This course is approved for 8 credits of NYDFS Continuing Education (For LA, LB, LC, PC, BR) and NYHBE SHOP Certification. Cape School will export successful completion credits to NYDFS, and the Exchange will notify producers so they may sign a producer agreement. This course is a prerequisite to taking the NYHBE Individual Exchange Certification course. It must be completed and passed before you can take the Individual Certification course.

The 8 Hour NYHBE Individual Exchange Certification course is intended to permit Producers to sell individual health insurance policies through the New York State Health Benefit Exchange. The NYHBE SHOP Exchange Certification course is a prerequisite to taking this course. Following the training, Producers must take an exam, which if passed, will make producers eligible for certification to operate within the NYHBE Exchange. Only with SHOP and Individual certification will Producers be able to sell individual health coverage through the Exchange.
